Well, today was a high energy day….for kids anyway. The (25)children i am referring to were wound up big time. It was raining outside, and they are all at the end of their tethers with summer winding up and rumors of school starting back up, on the lips of every parent within a five mile radius.
It is no wonder that at this point in time….peace and quiet is a rare thing. We really must come up with some ways for these children to burn off some energy. Or i need to drink more coffee to keep up….one of the two!
Oh, I wouldn’t!
As one who has drunk too much strong black coffee a day (admittedly this was more than 25 years ago) and reaped the sorry benefits, I’d think of another way to increase your energy (or as you say – let them burn theirs)
Self care. Self care. Self care. (lol – talking about me here probably).
* Go to bed earlier – eat well – take a break during the day
* Pamper yourself with a long relaxing bath.
* Lie on your back on the grass and watch clouds drift by. If the children join you – find shapes in the clouds
* Con the children into sitting with you (quietly) to look at family photos
* This may turn into telling of family stories – each child taking a turn “I remember when…..”
* they could be persuaded to write each of their stories and put them in a scrap book for next time. A lovely family resource especially as you have a family with three overlapping generations.
