Well…we made it through the deadline for the temporary shutdown. I would almost sigh with relief, except that it is not a done deal. Basically, they now have 30 more days to work out the rest of the deal. Both sides had to cave a bit to achieve the moratorium.
At what cost, i say. They are going to raise our taxes here. Both sales tax and income taxes will be raised. They have already announced that. They are now going to tax luxury services such as having your carpet cleaned, mowing your grass, legal fees, accounting fees and HAIRCUTS! Geez.
Yes, here in michigan we live the lifestyle of the RICH AND FAMOUS. Why… we think nothing, of spending $10.00 on a haircut. Now, we get to add a little more to our bragging rights on how much our haircut cost us! Don’t stare when you see some of us running around looking like we tried to save money on the sales tax by combining our services…such as….say…HAVING OUR HAIR CUT BY OUR LAWNMOWERS!!!!! Good grief. *****************************Pullleeezzzzzzzzzzze!
A few years ago, friend’s of ours, from out of state, were considering moving here. When they found a house they were interested in…they went over their finance’s. They liked the house alot. The deciding factor for them??? It was the highest property taxes that they personally had heard of. That wouldn’t sound logical…except for the fact, that my friend was a tax collector. He knows the value of a home.
So, we will have higher taxes; in a state that is barely staying afloat. Businesses are moving out of state, at a high rate, to move to states that do not tax them to death, simply, for owning a business. Our school’s are half- staffed as it is. Our main industry is automobiles and tourism.
In a state that has one of the highest gasoline prices….tourism isn’t going to be booming anytime soon. You already know how the automobile business is going. So…how are the residents of Michigan going to survive??
Well, friend…that is a very good question. I will give you an answer in 30 days or so…when the power’s that be, in our state government, decide the all important balance that will be required.
I wonder if it will be the elderly who will pay the price (some more) with their prescription/medical costs. Or maybe, our school children who aren’t getting a quality education; because of lack of funding, maybe they will be asked to sacrifice a little more.
Or, perhaps, those of us struggling to find jobs after we have already been downsized and restructured; or had jobs eliminated, will be asked to work three jobs at minimum wage (what are we complaining about minimum wage was raised recently to $7.15 cents an hour….after all….next year it will take a huge leap to the almight amount of $7.40 per hour)! Live it up.
Come on people….quit complaining….roll up your sleeves…you can always sell your plasma..i hear that is paying good a couple of times a week!!! You only have to weigh 115 lbs to donate. (Seriously, i know people who are feeling like they have to do this to survive.) Now get out there and make some MONEY!!!!!!
