Most of us in America have water when we need it; but, some in our country are going without. Oh, there are those who will argue the merit of city water (treated) over those who trumpet their very own well water. The human body is made up of 90% water they say.
So, when you are thirsty…all you can think about is getting a nice long drink. It is a need. Water is such a precious thing. Some countries aren’t as blessed with an abundence of water like the United States is.
However, many people in the US are starting to experience extreme drought over the last couple of years and most especially in the last 6 months. It is becoming an emergency in some areas where whole towns are having to truck in water to fill their water reserves.
Living in Michigan, we are surrounded by the Great Lakes. It is a huge responsibility to take proper care of the water quality of the lakes. Some states feel that they have a right to tap them. I don’t personally agree; however, i do feel that we all have a responsibilty to use water wisely. We all also need to be in deep prayer for those who are struggling with the drought.
Not only do they need adequate water supplies for eating and drinking, but for sanitation, and to control conditions that are ripe for wild fires. Water is something so basic, that all living things must rely on it for their very own lives. Same as air…somethings, you just can’t do without.
My son and his family live in an area in Georgia where they are definately affected by the lack of water. I pray that God will bless the areas of the south and south west that are not only low on water; but, where it has become a crisis.
Imagine that is it you who is effected by this drought…pray as if your very own water supply depends on it! That is effective prayer :).
