Natalee Halloway-Missing in Aruba

       Today, it was announced that the three suspects in Natalee Halloway’s disappearance are not going to be prosecuted.  After two years and, many different attempts to prosecute the suspect’s they are not going to pursue the case; unless new information comes to the forefront. 

        The authorities have up to 12 years to pursue the case if they can prove that Natalee was murdered.   If they can prove involuntary manslaughter, then they have up to 6 years to file charges (2 years of that time is gone already).  Whether these three young men are responsible directly for her death or not; they are at least negligent for leaving her on the beach; which, they allegedly admitted that they did.

       Regardless of the truth of Natalee’s disappearance; she is still missing.  Her family and friends have a void in their live’s because she is not there.  There is a hurt there, that cannot heal properly without accurate information about that night. They continue to grieve.

       The grief has to be debilitating in all aspects of their lives.  It will be difficult for the family and friends to move on in a healthy way, now that they don’t have the immediate hope of prosecuting those they believe responsible for Natalee’s disappearance. 

        That sense of loss, anger, depression, desperation and betrayal of the system can destroy.  There must be some way to channel all of that driving focus to accomplish some good. I remember hearing that Natalee’s family just wanted to bring her home.   I hope they can find their feet on a path to healing.

       For those truly responsible for Natalee’s disappearance, i hope the truth is revealed soon.  Someone has the knowledge of what truly happened that night to Natalee.  The person(s) that know where she is also have to be  living a daily torment as they remember her.   They could achieve peace in their heart and mind by revealing the truth.  Let it be so!    ***  See Jan 31, 2008 update
