UFO enthusiasts are saying that the military’s previous denial about having fighter planes in the area of Stephenville, Texas on January 8, 2008, is now a confirmation that something unidentified really was in the area, now that they have retracted that statement.
Yesterday, officials from Ft. Worth’s Naval Station said that 10 F-16’s were in that area doing training on that day. Previously, Maj. Karl Lewis said that what people saw must have been an illusion caused by the sun reflecting off of two commercial planes. He says now that he should not have speculated about what it could have been.
Those that reported the sighting said that it appeared that at least two figher planes appeared to be chasing the bright object that moved differently than any airplane they had ever seen before. With the military correcting previous statements regarding their own fighter jets it does make a person wonder what really happened.
There has been an air of mystery surrounding investigations of UFO’s since 1947 going back to the Roswell, NM crash of what the military said was a weather balloon. With the Freedom Of Information Act, it is easier to get old documents and try to get to the bottom of old reports and sightings.
One thing is for sure, the curiosity of such events is not going away anytime soon! *See posting on my blog on UFO’s on the previous date of Jan 16th
