Tearing Down of Miley Cyrus

       For the last few months…the party girls of the celebrity world have been toning it down.  When everything was so very out of control on the scandal sheets, regarding  Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and other’s; the papers started focussing on those with the good girl, role model image. 

         It seemed that they couldn’t wait to build them up; and, slyly they WONDERED IF MILEY CYRUS, and others like her, wouldn’t also soon be on the same path to self destruction.  Their headlines screamed a false concern about the future of those in the limelight; would they too end up on drugs/alcohol/addicted to sex, and the partying lifestyle?  Please, it is just a ploy to sell newspapers!

       Then last year, when Jaime Lynn Spears announced her pre-marital pregnancy…it was almost with glee, that they had another poster girl to shine the light on.  Now that Jaime Lynn has pulled back out of the glare of the press…Miley Cyrus has been moved to the front of the line for the tick tock of the self- destruction time bomb that the tabloid rags have been trying to promote.

       Last week, there were some photos put online that show Miley in her underwear.  She has apologized for those “inappropriate photos”.  Then today, there were some pictures taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, for the equally famous magazine Vanity Fair, which Miley says, she thought were going to be “artistic” shots.  Even if they would have been purely “artistic” shots….why should a 15 year old be allowed to put it out there for public viewing?  Bad decision…someone should have put an end to the idea before it became reality.  Teens don’t always want to hear advice about what is right and wrong…but, still someone should have pointed out that this was a really, really, bad idea!

         Hello, where were her advisors, the ones from her family or from her show, to guide and protect a barely 15 year old girl from making such a mistake?  Was there no contract that gave her creative control over which pictures would be used; thereby, saving her from what she has allegedly described as “embarassment” over these latest pictures?  I have only seen one…and that picture shows her wrapped in a sheet with a bare back.  If a regular person took this kind of “artistic” shots…because of her age…it could be considered objectionable or suspicious by law enforcement.

        Who in their right mind would promote a 15 year old girl in such photos for a magazine?  What kind of message is that sending?  I mean come on…”artistic” is one thing…but, this is not an adult woman.  I think that there are some adults involved here who could have used better judgement. 

       I know that Miley Cyrus has been upfront about her faith guiding her footsteps. These types of decisions will not only hurt her professionally, but, it can also damage her testimony as a Christian.   No, she is not perfect…none of us are.  We expect her to make mistakes as she grows up just like the rest of us have; however, eyes are watching her.

        However, because she is NOT an adult…it would be wise if her management would make sure that she is better protected from those in the industry who would take advantage of her fame. If her advisors put their stamp of approval on this project…then maybe they need replacing.    After all, they allegedly allowed her to be put in this position by making an error in judgement regarding these photos.

Britney’s Svengali allegedly Gives Her Drugs

       Reportedly, Britney Spear’s family has alledged in court documents, that Britney’s svengali of  recent times, manager Sam Lutfi has drugged her and threatened both her and her family with violence.  Some of the alledged things that have been said,  have such open contempt in them that it is nothing less than malicious in an attempt to destroy Britney’s whole world.

        It sounds as if there must be some type of proof as the allegations have been submitted to the court and the court has  issued a temporary restraining order against him regarding contact with Britney and her home.  Without proof, a person submitting to the court false allegations would be held accountable.

        There have also been reports that Britney’s home has been burgularized.  All of these things all rolled into one huge circus; is it any wonder why Britney has been so very out of control of late?  Maybe alot of it has been without her knowledge or consent.  It is like something out of a soap opera…too wild to even contemplate.

        With all of the rumors of the media being notified of Britney’s comings and goings; even before they happened over the last few months…a sane person would wonder who would notify the media when it was so obviously not always something Britney wanted in her life.

        Maybe someone with an ulterior motive for all of the press coverage and a need to be seen in the public eye on the arm of one of the most infamous women of our time.  A woman in need of someone to control her environment and to keep her in  desperate, constant need.   Does this whole situation bring to mind another very famous woman; a woman who also lived in a state of upheaval until she was destroyed…Marilyn Monroe. 

        It will be up to the court and the medical profession to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together to get to the bottom of this cesspool.  Maybe, just maybe, the medical intervention will have happened in the nick of time to prevent even more diaster in the lives of Ms. Spears and her family.  If any of it is true , then it is more than sad, it is evil.

I hope I dont hear…ooops, she did it again!

       Ok, i have been awake less than 15 minutes and I am hearing the news (good, I believe) that Britney Spears has been admitted again for a mental health evaluation in California.

       I hope i do not hear in the headlines the stupid line, Oops, she did it again.  I know some media will make terrible headlines.  This is serious people…she is in terrible need.   You know what…we have all been observing a young woman who has been drowning.  It is almost like everyone is standing around saying, i wonder who is going to jump in and save her.  While we all wait….she has been going underwater not knowing if she will come back up. 

        Even though she needs help badly, it is still a tragedy that she has to be admitted anywhere “again”.  Why wasn’t she kept in the hospital the last time?  When the last incident happened the media proclaimed that it was a typical California 72-hour watch.  She was released in a day and a half.  Who made that decision?

       I am sure, for her parents or whoever made the decision to make the call this time, for another evaluation it had to have been a hard decision.  How could they not wonder…will she get healthy, will she hate us forever, will she once again cut us out of her life?  These are hard thoughts that thousands of people, everyday, deal with in their own families when a loved one has a mental illness.

       So, people, dont make jokes, don’t make light of her situation.  I think most people are realizing that this isn’t something to make jokes about at Britney’s expense; but at the same time….there are people who will try to make a profit off of selling pictures of her or something. 

       It is hard to value yourself emotionally when everywhere she looks…someone wants to get something from her.  I am sure that and the constant hangers on in her life have only added to her illness …whatever that may be.  And no, none of us have a right to know what that illness is…unless, She, the patient wants people to know once she has time to heal and mend.

       Let us not forget…there are two young children growing up in the middle of this legal and emotional spotlight.  They will live with the reminders of mom and her “breakdowns” just like a very famous Hollywood woman named Marilyn Monroe or Norma Jean, if you will.

      Times have come a long way since those days in the treatment of mental health…but, the stigma of mental health is no better now than it was then.  May God grant healing for all those touched by mental health illnesses.

Is it bi-polarism?

      I have a daughter that was  diagnosed as bi-polar years ago.  I can tell you that living and loving someone afflicted with bi-polar disorder, or what used to be called manic-depression is not an easy thing.

        Alot of the behaviors that seem common or typical to the disease is very distressing.  There are alot of up and down emotions for both the patient and anyone who cares for them.  Pain and shame seem to be a big part of the picture for both the person and their loved ones.

Helping or enabling

      The last few days events have revealed that previous methods of handling the problems that Britney Spears is having are not working.  So, it was almost a relief to hear that someone was taking formal action to get to the bottom of the issues.  That relief was short lived.

Can’t someone do something?

      Everyday there is another, more disturbing report on Britney Spears and her family.  Yesterday, she shows up almost two hours late for a court ordered deposition on her custody case. This young mother is either in denial about the importance of these proceedings or she is beyond being able to make rational decisions.

Breaking Britney

     Hey, i just wanted to say a few things about all the media coverage of… all things Britney.  I am not a huge pop fan…but i think the girl has had some good songs over the years.  What bothers me, lately, is that the theme of the media.  It seems to  turn the young celebs live’s into some kind of twisted entertainment.

     I think it is a shame that these young people are so out of control and destroying their lives.  But, i think that living in a fishbowl… having a copious amount of money in their bank accounts… as well as an unusual amount of freedom before they are ready to handle it, is a recipe for disaster.

     I find it sad that when someone is having a meltdown…whether it is Britney, Paris, Lindsey or whoever; that the media is more than ready to record and regurgitate it for our enquiring minds. 

     It is sort of like driving past an accident on the side of the road.  You can’t help but look, but, then you have to live with what you see. 

     The total drama in Britney’s life has continued to climb higher and higher to the point to where now the family courts are involved and they will possibly have to decide where those precious babies will end up being raised. 

       If that doesn’t wake up all parties involved, nothing will.  If it is  drugs/alcohol/ or some other addiction behind the scenes; or it is all related to a delayed adolescent rebellion, it is going to be a rebellion that comes with a very high price tag for all involved.  I dont know about you but my hands are metaphorically covering my eyes, not daring to look…but somehow compelled to just the same!

     My need to see how things go is based, somewhat, on my previous experience of foster parenting for 18 years.  I have been on the receiving end of situations where children  in similar circumstances have to find a way to survive.  It is very sad to see!
