It has come to my attention that people will often find themselves doing amazing things after finding themselves in challenging situations. Take for instance this family i know. Their son Keegan had cancer…and life got pretty challenging not only for Keegan but for his whole family. Keegan lives with his parents and he has a younger sibling and an older sibling. Living in a rural area means that when you have cancer treatments you often have to do a lot of traveling to and from bigger cities that have the facilities that you can not necessarily get in your own small town. This not only puts a financial hardship on families but it also creates many opportunities for separation of family members. It is difficult to be able to work a job or two, balance the physical and emotional needs of all the family members and still find the extra energy to take care of yourself. Those are issues this family understands, the stress of it all, as they have been through it themselves.
This particular family has gotten through all of that and they decided, as a family, to give back to others going through similar situations. They were blessed over and over again by friends, family members and even total strangers during all of the trials they faced while going through testing and treatments. They have decided to form a non profit to help others. To get the non profit status, they must raise funds to file all of the necessary paperwork with the state and federal government.
This week they are doing an online auction on their Facebook page Team Keegan If you believe in doing good things, in taking a challenge and using it to bless others…won’t you visit their page and bid on some of their donated items? I believe there are wonderful items such as: a child’s wooden rocking horse, a picture hand-created by Keegan, a sock monkey in a hospital robe, baby chickens, a hand-sewn American made fabric purse, a tote bag with a swaddling blanket and burp rag and a photo package from a local photographer. This is a fundraiser…and they are planning on doing good things to bless other children and their families facing medical challenges.
If you have ever known someone who has faced cancer then you know just how important support can be. Please help this family achieve their dream of becoming a non-profit organization who reaches out to others in need. Thanks for being willing to read this far. This past week a series of three free videos has been released by a JV team of internet marketing specialists that have paired up to teach how they others to make money online. Their approach is unique in the way that they approach one of the hottest niches in the internet marketing world. Paul Counts does the teaching in the video on finding profitable niches. Jeff Wellman teaches on the importance of positioning your product during the product creation phase of your product to make sure that when you bring your product to the marketplace that it is positioned in a way to get it in front of the eyes of a targeted market audience. Unless you deliberately try to avoid the news regarding people in the media, you have surely heard the tragic tale of actor Charlie Sheen and the downward spiral that he has been on with regards to his public displays of out of control, alleged drug use, partying, and seemingly non-sensical interviews that have Charlie Sheen appearing to bite the hand that feeds him. There have been news stories about porn stars, domestic violence, alleged drug use, drug rehab, custody issues, contract negotiations, not to mention, a forced hiatus from his television show and disgruntled co-workers.
That show, called Two and a Half Men, has stopped production on their show for the rest of the season; since Charlie has made a public statement on interviews that disparages the producers of the show, television show creator Chuck Lorre, Alcoholic Anonymous, his ex wife, and women in general. He says horribly vile things about Chuck Lorre and shows nothing but contempt for women, in my opinion, when he says things about women such as he has fame and those women have nothing and that all they will ever have is that night with him and that he will forget about them as soon as they leave. A new interview with Billy Ray Cyrus is making the news, as a pensive Billy Ray rues that the show Hannah Montanna came into his family’s life. He expresses that he feels that it has destroyed his family. I think it is with good reasons that he has those regrets. After all, in the last year his 18 year old daughter Miley Cyrus has made multiple headlines that have left many of her fans, and the parents of her fans, feel like she has left those roots of which she was so proud of before. Those roots that spoke of family values and Christian beliefs.
Miley Cyrus became so rich and so overwhelmingly popular that she began to make changes like dressing more provocatively. She not only “grew up”; she changed her image. She made very grown up videos with older men and she was caught on film smoking Salvia in a bong (which is not illegal in California but which has hallucinogenic affects on the people who smoke it). Billy says that he always tried to be a friend to his children and now he regrets not being more of a disciplinarian type of a parent. Many parents realize this type of mistake…but, when there are people who form a wall around your child, I would imagine it is harder to talk things out. Billy didn’t have the title of being his daughter’s manager in business either…so he had no official say so in those business decisions of hers. I don’t know about you…but, I grew up with Barbie and Ken. You know…of the plastic doll fame, Ken and Barbie? They were allegedly introduced to one another on the beach in Malibu back in 1961. They have been through it as a couple. For most of 43 years they were an item. Then, back in 2004 after all of those years together…another man caught Barbies eye. Talk about drama. It appears that some employers are of the mind that, because of the economy, employees should be so grateful to have a job; that they must do whatever it takes to not only get a job, but to keep it. Some employers are now requiring employees, or even potential employees, to sign an agreement that they are willing to work 24/7; meaning that if and when an employee is needed they must be willing to come in to work; no matter what time of the day, or even what day of the week it is that they work.
It is my understanding that there is nothing against the law about this agreement. If an employee doesn’t willingly agree to this…they may not be hired; or if they’ve already been hired and refuse to sign this agreement, they can be fired or scheduled for work so little, that an employee is compelled to start looking for a new job.

Surely you’ve heard about the Mega Millions Lottery Jackpot in the news. Everyone in the media is going gaga over the $330 million jackpot winnings. People are dreaming big. Oh there is speculation on the lips of those that are interviewed about what they WILL do with their winnings (they haven’t even bought a ticket yet) and they are fantasizing about how THEIR money will be spent and how they will choose to collect it; either in a lump sum or, through long term annuity payments.
Players are standing in long lines to purchase their tickets. Even the “odds of winning” aren’t a deterrent to the most loyal of players…the 1 in 176 millionth of a chance of winning. Really?
