Wow!  Can I just tell you what a joy it was to read, Man Shoes-The Journey To Becoming A Better Man, Husband & Father?  It is my privilege to review this book; I believe that the author, Tom Watson, has some real valuable wisdom to offer his readers.   Tom  was born to parents ill prepared to raise a child in a healthy & life affirming way.  He was placed into 13 different foster homes…some of which were little more than a systemic form of a physical & psychological torture chamber.

Tom was placed into foster care because his Aunt Donna & Uncle Roy found the courage to report the erratic parental care that infant Tom was experiencing.  His parents would drop him off here and there and neglect to pick him up at the times that they agreed to.  At one year of age, he became a foster child because his aunt and uncle found the strength of character to endure family censure by reporting the situation to the proper authorities.  Tom expresses his gratefulness to them for doing so…even though he suffered greatly in multiple foster homes until he came to the place where his body and soul were nurtured.  His life story actually proceeds with joy and gratefulness.  To read the rest of this review go to:  Book In Review

I know people who are struggling, people who have cut back in every conceivable way to save money just to stay afloat.  I also know people who are living very comfortably in nice homes, with fancy vehicles, going out to eat regularily and have no worries when it comes to bills or their health.  The world definately has classes of people who are in the haves and the have nots.  There is also a large population of people who are somewhere in the middle.  The thing is…we all have things that we could share.  Blessings come in many packages.

Everyone of us has gifts, talents, finances, possessions, strengths, knowledge or time that we could share with others.  What I love to celebrate and learn about are those who share those blessings with others without thought or expectation of getting something back from that experience of sharing.

Our society is going through some amazingly challenging times…people are struggling.  We need to be aware of others around us who are in need…those who could use a little pick me up.  It could be a kind word, a nice deed, financial gift, or it could be a sharing of knowledge that could bring a positive change to another.   There is a spiritual attitude that I love, it says this: “Those to whom much is given, much is expected in return”.  I call that an attitude of gratitude; being thankful for all that you have been blessed with and a willingness to share it with others!   I challenge you to find some way to bless others in your daily life.   Consider this a compassionate call to action…what can you give to others with no strings attached?

How many times have you had an important message that you wished you could get out to the masses of people who could make a difference if they only knew what you had to say?  This is true for many people who want to educate others about a subject, collect more customers for their business, get noticed for an accomplishment, try to catch the eye of a sponsor, raise funds by attracting donors…etc.  You get the idea.  Social networking is quickly becoming the main source of advertising and getting the word out about anything that you need to SHOUT OUT TO THE WORLD.  Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Facebook, Myspace, Blogs, and so very many more options are available to get yourself heard and noticed.

Internet marketer, business man, author, public speaker, mentor Ken McArthur is putting on a live event out in Philadelphia at this very moment.  This whole weekend is centered around experts in the field of publishing, marketing, media, public relations, social networking and other related fields.  There is much to learn…even for those who consider themselves up to date.

You can watch some of the events and speakers such as Brendon Burchard, Warren Whitlock, Sanyika Calloway Boyce, and many others who will share some of what they know for free for those wishing to watch a live streaming video.  You can see it if they are broadcasting at the moment…but if not, register to get an email for when they will be broadcasting…check it out here:  http://www.nexurl.com/live  Enjoy!  Update:  The Impact Factor Boot Camp was a success.   The url is no longer live…however, i believe you can see a couple of clips still.   Now keep your eyes peeled for anthing to do with the Impact Boot Camp Action Team and see how they work as a team to bring focus and attention to a specific topic.  You too can have action…Brendon Burchard’s Life’s Golden Ticket Seminar in Los Angeles will teach you how to be effective.  It will be held Sept 26-28th, 2008 under a Big Top.

Anyone who has ever gone into the military and gone through boot camp understands that boot camp is where they learned their basic skills.  Once learned, those same skills were expected to be put to use to make an impact; wherever that individual was sent to serve.  That is the same principal that business man and author, Ken McArthur, of JVAlert Live fame, is going to employ with 18 individuals through his new Impact Boot Camp http://www.impactbootcamp.com  which is a 3 day intensive training program.

Ken has written a best selling book called, “Impact, How to Get Noticed, Motivate Millions and Make a Difference in a Noisy World” which was published earlier this year.   He mentored with Glenn Dietzel of Books Mean Credibility fame to write that book in 12 hours.  Ken created a whole program around the book after it was published.     He knows quite a bit about making his voice heard; however, Ken has managed to snag some experts to train the 18 individuals; in  areas of expertise such as: speakers, authors, business, marketers, media consultants, and publicity.  Once those skills are learned…they will be asked to work together as a team.  The 3 day training will take place on August 22, 23, 24th.  There will be musical entertainment and motivation at this event as well; it is much anticipated!  (more…)
