Here is a story that illustrates the breakdown of American business.  Jim Crosby and his sister Linette are in a fierce and immediate battle to save their family owned mint farm business.  They are to be foreclosed on, any day now…they need to sell bottles of mint oil to save their business.  They are located in St. Johns, Michigan.  Michigan is one of the hardest hit states when it comes to the economy.  People here are struggling to hang on to the most basic necessities of life…this family only wants to be able to continue to provide a service to their customers…both old and NEW!  It is their dream to be able to continue marketing their mint oil.

Their business has been owned by their family members since the early nineteen hundreds.  This is their legacy…and it needs an influx of cash, today.  You can visit their website ( http://www.getmint.com)  and help, to try to save an American owned business.   In a day and age where American business owners are moving out of the country left and right, to get cheaper labor and make more of a profit; it is nice to be able to support a company that has stayed in America while producing their product.  If you use mint oil for cooking, baking, tea, health aid, air freshner…or any other use…please buy from this company and help them stay in business…but, don’t dawdle…they need cash now to stay in business.  The bank that is planning to foreclose on them…could take their bottles of oil and they could take the equipment needed to continue producing the oil…thereby, putting them out of business.

We have to make a stand for some kind of return to common sense…producing in America, selling in America and buying in America…this is how we build a strong infrastructure in the country once again.  You can build up business, jobs, and housing markets by keeping American’s working.  You want to strenthen the economy?  Stop buying everything from other countries (because it’s cheaper) and start supporting American owned and operated business that produce quality products.  The job or business that you save just might be your own!

For those who have had the unfortunate experience of hearing that they have cancer, facing the decisions of how best to fight the disease is a bit like arm wrestling the devil.  You can’t see cancer from the outside…but, it has the power to destroy you.  For the most part, you are in a battle against something the size of golliath, when most of us are only armed with a sling shot and a stone.  The patient has a lot to learn about what type of cancer it is, what drugs work best on it, and whether to have surgery, radiation or not.

Thank goodness for the streams of information on the internet…it saves alot of time asking useless questions in the doctor’s office when you can eliminate some of the obvious questions and answers right off…saving the precious little time and attention that the specialist have to devote to their patients.  The really important things can be concentrated on while you are face- to- face.

Finding the right kind of support that you need to stay strong, stay focussed and stay informed about the latest and the greatest tools that you have; not to mention taking the time to nurture your mind and spirit; these are essential.  The mind, the body, and the spirit are all connected and when under attack…each of those areas need special treatment.  Fear is a mighty enemy and is not to be underestimated.  Surrounding yourself with love and support is critical.  Faith in God is what shores up the spirit for many patients and is to be considered as one of the greatest tools you can have.  Prayer partners are your warriors…people who will go to the mat for you whenever you need it…when circumstances appear to hit you hardest.  Inspirational role models can’t be underestimated; those who have fought and or are still battling will freely share their experience.  (more…)

Do you know anyone who has gone through a divorce and lost friends?  Maybe you have gone through it yourself…you split from your spouse and not only do you lose family members, share custody of the children and pets, but….now…maybe you have friends that will choose sides and support their spouse of choice!

Well, that is the way i sort of view the fight between duel celebs Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen.  It is turning into a battle royale; she said/he said.  The things that are being said of one another are ugly.  They are mean and they are vicious.  There is name calling and finger pointing and childish behavior…all in all…your typical divorce nightmare.

Because both Denise and Charlie are actors they each have their share of “friends”.  The court of public opinion is gearing up for a doosey of a declaration of alliance.  No…the public really has no say in how the court decides in the custody battle for their children; however, both Denise and Charlie are making sure that we know their business.

I have to say that in most peoples breakdown of marriages it is a long, lonely and painful time for all involved.  In the world of celebrity marriages sometimes it is hard to tell who is really hurting going through a divorce and who is just trying to influence public opinion with all of the PR spin-doctoring that is done.

As far as Charlie and Denise go…i have to say that i think that like most families who go through a divorce it is the children who suffer the most.  However, i think that both Denise and Charlie are not blameless in the face that they are presenting to the world…it would be wise for them both to remember that someday their girls are going to be old enough to read and hear interviews that they each have done about their marital relationship before and after the divorce.

With Denise putting her life on a reality show…it will all be there in full color for the girls to see and hear.  All of their hurts and anger will come through and influence their life choices.   Charlie has left a negative and bitter impression about his opinion of Denise in no uncertain terms.  He has allegedly called her vile names that most people would not choose to label women no matter how low of an opinion they have…he has allegedly called her very derogatory names and also racist names.  He even further lowered many peoples level of respect for him as a person by attacking Denise’s mother who was dying of cancer.

Doesn’t Charlie know that many of his fans/viewers are people who’s lives have been affected by cancer as well?  How does he think that makes them feel?  It would be really a very healing thing if the judge in charge of their divorce would order them to go into family counseling; even if it was, just for the sake of their children!  Live your lives people and move on…time is short…don’t waste it on negative energy trying to get revenge on someone that you pledged your life and love to at one time!  Live and let live…give your children at least a minimum of respect for their other parent.

I read a wonderful tribute on a fellow blogger’s blog today.  It  was a respectful tribute regarding one ovarian cancer survivor’s feelings of the passing of another afflicted with cancer.  They were in the battle against the enemy cancer.  They had a rich relationship of love and support.

The respect and caring just comes through her words that define just what he meant to her.  He was friend, adopted grandfather as well as favored “uncle”.  No i don’t think they were related to each other biologically, but that doesn’t matter.

They connected in a way that goes beyond surface; so, i know that with his passing she will grieve the loss, even knowing that he is no longer suffering pain or discomfort in the battle anymore.  Cancer might have taken his body; but, it didn’t claim his soul or his essense.  God will not allow the enemy that much power in the battle over his own children called by his name.

So, I wish for her healing; and, joy in the remembering of their time together.  May the highs from the joy of knowing each other far outweigh the loss in his passing from this world.  It isn’t the end…it is the beginning of forever…they will know each other again in eternity; and they will be blessed from the knowing of one another.

She is playing a song from Vince Gill on her blog in rememberance, it is a song called High on the Mountain. It speaks of a strong faith and the victory that comes to those at the end of the journey.  It is a song of encouragement and an acknowledgement of the struggles of life.

Both of my parents have battled cancer…they have friends who have battled the disease right alongside of them.  These relationships are hard to define and the bond is stronger than diamonds.  They sparkle just as brightly too.  So, I pray that the comforter send her the strength she needs at this time of loss.  God bless  you Lady Ashley and those that you touch in your journey!
