Dancing With The Stars-Looses Another Celebrity

       This week another star has been released from the competition on Dancing With the Stars…that celebrity was Susan Lucci.  She started out dancing very stiffly at the beginning of the season.  By the end of her time on the show…she appeared to relax a bit and seemed to become more engaged with the joy of dancing. 

          It is not Susan’s fault that she is up against some very talented competitiors :).  However it was her time to go…become it is a competition and there definately are more qualified dancers that need to remain in the contest.  As always, Susan Lucci is a class act and says that she is greatful for the life experience of being able to dance on the show. 

         Who will be the next competitior to leave?  And, what kind of improvement and challenge will we see in those who are left?

Juliane Hough From Dancing With The Stars Has Surgery

       Last night, if you had a chance to watch Dancing With The Stars; you probably already heard…but, Julianne Hough announced that she would be having surgery today to have her appendix removed.  If you remember, last week after competition, Julianne took a trip to the hospital in an ambulance for stomach pains.

        It was disclosed that Julianne has endometriosis; and, that is why she is having her appendix removed.  Endometriosis is a condition that is very painful, it is caused by abnormal growth of the lining of the uterus.  That growth can extend outside of the uterus and spread to the internal organs.  It can contribute to fertility complications. 

        In any case, we send best wishes to Juliane.  During her absence, while recovering, Julianne’s dance partner Cody Linley will be partnered with Edyta.  Julianne hopes to be back in a week…but that would be pushing it by most people’s expectations.  I am sure we will get an update on Julianne’s condition tonight on the results show of Dancing With The Stars.  related story:  https://writeasrain.wordpress.com/2008/11/13/dancing-wthe-stars-maurice-greene-is-a-good-sport/

Dance With Drugs-Risk Everything -Cole Puffinburger

      Ok, we all know that illegal drugs are bad for you…understanding that, starts in elementary school when children become educated about such risky behavior.  However, world cultures send mixed messaged to young children through the behavior of the adults that they interact with in their lives; and, through exposure on television and in various forms of media.  Television often glamourizes the lifestyle of the drug trade.  It shows all that it has to offer with money, celebrities, music, expensive house & cars & jewelry and loads of boyfriends/girlfriends…what it doesn’t always address is the danger, the moral/spiritual decay, suicide, murder, prostitution, the dehumanizing treatment of families, and the lack of control of how far they end up sliding into despair.

       So, not only do we understand the damage that can come from the abuse of drugs…such as death, brain damage, broken relationships, jail/prison, rotted teeth, damaged health, addiction, prostitution, theft, and many other physical ailments…but we begin to see a moral decay as well.  People appear to have very little value to the drug addicts; and or, the people who supply them with the drugs.

      This week a very disturbing story made the news about a young boy, from Las Vegas-Nevada, who was forcibly taken from his home by people posing as police officers.  They  tied up the young boy’s mother and her boyfriend, ransacked the home, and took the six year old boy named, Cole Puffinburger.  The reports are that the boy was kidnapped out of some kind of retailiation; allegedly involving, (unknown to us), relatives of the boy and a drug deal.   Parents lose custody of their children everyday because of their relationships with drugs or alcohol.  But in this case, the people removing young Cole were NOT protective services…it is probably, people involved in the drug trade.  No one appears to know whether Cole is safe or not at this time.  If you have any information please call the Las Vegas Metro Police at:  702-828-5678.  Update:  Cole’s grandfather has been arrested on Friday night by U.S. Marshalls.  It is believed that he has been laundering money for Mexican Nationals involved in the drug trade.  The Grandfather has been hiding out.  It is being alledged that he owes the Mexican drug cartel, between 8-20 million dollars.  Pray for Cole’s safe return…hopefully, the grandfather will have information that will lead to finding Cole (alive and well).  Abductions are taking place more often near the Mexican boarder.  This is a national problem that we need to address…pray for the DEA who try to fight the good fight…pray that those who are tempted to go to the other side, stay strong!

       It is frightening and sad how little value is placed on human life anymore.  This poor young boy was put in harms way because of drugs; and or the buying/selling drug lifestyle.  Is this little boy going to be alright?  His playmate chums in the neighborhood and in school are worried about him…they are frightened.  Whether it was the relatives that Cole lived with or others that were involved in his life…this child has been placed in danger due to the direct actions of people who he trusted; if the news reports we are hearing are true.

        Children all around the world are impacted by the choices their caregivers make.  Those caregivers (parents) who use illegal drugs or alcohol aren’t making rational decisions, oftentimes, because their thought processes are impared by the drugs/alcohol. 

        Please say a prayer for Cole, his friends and family (i am sure there are other family members who weren’t involved in the drug deal who care for Cole); as well as all children who’s lives have been impacted by the destruction that comes from the relationship of drugs/alcohol in their environment.  Have you or someone that you cared deeply about been affected by destruction associated with this kind of lifestyle?

        You’ve heard the saying that people who abuse drugs or alcohol say to back off…because it is their life; the thing is…that drug abuse affects us all.  It starts with each individual choice to use or not to use.  They often think that they are in control of the drugs or alcohol…but, it doesn’t take long for that to shift…and the drugs or alcohol are controlling them…and affecting everyone around them.  It is a big business with high stakes…people get involved in things that they can not control.  www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/drugs/  

Update on Saturday October 18th, 2008…it appears that the authorities have suddenly pulled the amber alert that was put out for young Cole.  There has been no further information.  There is supposed to be a news conference this afternoon.  As soon as there is updated information released…i will add it to this page. 

New update:  Cole has been found walking alone on the streets while detectives were handing out flyers about him.  Thank you God…thank you to the volunteers…and thank you to those who prayed for his safe return.  There were no further details given.

Kim Kardashian leaves Dancing With The Stars before 82 Year Old

         Well, this is interesting…tonight on Dancing With the Stars…Kim Kardashian left the show before 82 year old Cloris Leachman.  HMMMMM…what can you say?   That is just sad.  Someone young, someone able bodied, someone who supposedly has a strong following, because of her “reality celebrity” television show, couldn’t beat out an 82 year old comedian/actress…who really can’t dance, who goes for the joke with her performances and who shocks viewers with her poor taste in speech!  

         Well, we are in for another week…of mugging by Cloris.  I certainly thought it was time for her to leave this week…but, what can you say…Kim certainly didn’t help matters with her poor performances.  Thanks alot Kim…i really like Dancing With The Stars…but, i really think that they need to respect the fact that their show is supposed to be family friendly…let’s make sure that future performers remember that fact!

A Trio To Remember

      Tonight, there will be a trio of contestants to remember, on dancing with the stars.  Kristi Yamagucchi and her partner Mark will go head- to- head (or feet- to- feet, as the case may be) with Jason Taylor and his partner Edyta  &  Christian de la Fuente and his partner Cheryl.

       This finale will be something to see.  Jason and Christian are new life-long friends according to all of the media buzz.  Kristi says it is time for another female celebrity winner to claim the trophy.  Tonight, they will compete for the final time.  Who will take away the trophy?

        Kristi barring any catastrophe is far and away the most skilled.  However, Jason has a huge following and is looking pretty smooth out there; but, Christian is strong in well-wishers because of his arm injury, weeks ago during competition.  He is scheduled to finally have the surgery on Friday for the ruptured tendon in the bicep. 

         Will Christian have the sympathy votes to get him the trophy?  He has definately stepped up his skill set in the last couple of weeks…and, has definately earned the right to be in the finale.  They all have.

Tuesday Ta Ta’s on Dancing With The Stars

         Once again, it is anyone’s guess who is leaving Dancing With The Stars.  One week a couple will be praised up and down by the judges and then find themselves because of the audience voting down in the bottom of the competition.  This week who will wave TA TA on Tuesday on Dancing With The Stars?

        For the most part…the dancing is coming up a notch or two every week.  But, Monday evening…Christian de la Fuente injured his arm halfway through his and Cheryl’s dance.  This earned them a lower score because, as Carrie Ann Inaba said…we will only judge you on what we saw.  She did compliment him on being there for Cheryl when he was obviously in pain.

        Marissa and Tony outdid themselves and earned very nice scores by doing so.  Kristi was fabulous as usual…she and her partner Mark…really shine each time they perform.  Sometimes, i think they score her lower just because they feel that she is a bit skilled above the other competitors…the judges expect more out of her.

         Mario and Karina did a fine job.  The judges keep bringing the attention to Mario’s age…what does that have to do with anything.  I think he is doing a fine job keeping up with Miss Karina and her talents.

          Shannon Elizabeth and her partner Derek have graceful nice moments and then they seem to have some really awkward moments that cant be covered up.  I think Shannon’s time is coming to an end.  She probably would have already been gone except for Derek’s popularity.

        Jason and Edyta did a nice job…and for once…Edyta wore more clothing than normal for her usual performances on the show.  This was nice…you could concentrate on their dancing as opposed to her skin.  She is a wonderful dancer and the focus should be on her partner…not on her costume of the week.

          So…Tuesday evening we will all be glued to the television sets waiting to see who will be saying Ta Ta…ya’ll.

Dance…it is Monday People

        Dances with the Stars is on again tonight…it is Monday, people.  I don’t know about you; but, i plan to vege on the couch and enjoy the show.  Each week it is exciting to see who ups the ante and forces the other competitors to deliver the best performance they can muster.

       The hardest part is waiting till tuesday to see which celebrity and dancing professional  is next to go.  It is getting to the part of the show…where…we have all invested a little bit of our own cheerleading for our favorite dancing couples.  Two dances definately puts a little more pressure on the couples dancing…so, this will be very, very interesting!

Perfect is as Perfect Does

       Dancing With The Stars had a star last night for sure…Kristi shone brightly.  She did a brillant job with her dance and it got her a perfect score.  We know for sure that Kristi is not leaving the show this evening.  She is a hit both with the audience and with the judges score…she is safe for another week.  Perfect score reflects a perfect performance…perfect is as perfect does.

       I myself wasn’t all that impressed with the group dance.  I didn’t particularily think that it was well choreographed.  It looked alot like chaos at times to me.  But then, i didn’t think that most of the “stars” looked like they felt comfortable performing it.  It did however, look like they were having a BLAST at the group practice though!

        I thought that Marissa did a great job with her dance with Tony.  I worry about her leaving because i think she is improving alot every week.  But, because she is short and somewhat larger than the other females… some of her dances look awkward…especially things like lifts…and tosses on the floor…it doesn’t always look graceful.  But, i got to tell you….i admire her greatly for pushing herself and gamely giving everything Tony throws at her a try.  Again, i think Tony is grinning from ear to ear…having a blast each week.  I don’t think i remember him having such a great time with any of his other partners.  It is neat to see.

      I saw an online survey which was asking which one of the “stars” should leave this week.  It was saying that Marlee got the most votes for leaving.  Hmmm…i wonder if it will be her.  I think the judges have been somewhat harsh with Shannon Elizabeth the last couple of weeks criticizing her lack of hip action.  But, i think that Derek’s, her partner, popularity  will keep her in the running for a while yet. 

       Mario’s dance with Karina was ummmmm…not G rated…it was kind of sultry …it was fun to watch…but…truthfully, Mario is a better dance than that number portrayed.  It was all about pleasing the eye…but Karina did most of the dancing…Mario…basically…just looked good.  So, i dont know.  I think he is popular enough with the audience that it wont cause him to leave the competition. 

       My prediction is that the person leaving will be Marlee.  I guess we will have to tune in to be sure.

Dance It’s Monday!

         Whoo Hoo…it is Monday…dance, dance, dance…Dancing With the Stars returns to television tonight.  Can’t even begin to imagine who will do what.  The contestants are learning that they can do things on the dance floor that they never thought they could do.  So, i will be watching…will you?  I wonder who will be the next to go…we will have to tune in on Tuesday to see the results.

Robin Said…No More Radiation…Praise Jesus!

        At the close of today’s Good Morning America, Robin Roberts announced that later today was the LAST of her radiation treatments…then she said that she wanted to dance… she asked the audience to dance with her….and, she gave credit where credit is due…Praise Jesus!  I am so very happy for Robin.  I am sure angels are in heaven dancing for joy as well.  All praise and worship go to God above.

          May God continue to flow blessings her way and to all those battling cancer.  Robin thanked everyone for their support and prayers.  She encourages us all to continue to lift up and encourage those going through cancer treatments. 

          Encouragement, support, and a listening ear are all just as critical to survival as the chemo & radiation treatments.  Bless those in the medical profession giving it their all to fight cancer; it isn’t easy to be on the front lines.  There are victories and there are losses and it is difficult to give to others continuously and not be discouraged by the losses.  Encourage a caregiver today as well!
