This is a controversial issue. I heard that starting in September (at least here in Michigan); custodial parents will be charged a yearly, one time fee of $25. This is in relation to parents of children who have been receiving child support. This fee is being charged as a matter of federal law to help offset the amount of money the government has to spend finding deadbeat parents who skip out on supporting their children.
