Having started making fun crafts for an upcoming craft show in June, we started posting pictures of our projects on Facebook to see what people really responded to and wow…people have been really “liking” our page. We’ve made baby burp rags and crayon roll ups; but what people are really excited about are our hand-sewn purses, tote bags and diaper bags. We’ve done theme bags from autism awareness bags, to sock monkeys, to hero firemen purses, breast cancer awareness purses and childhood cancer awareness. These bags are custom made bow tuck and tote bags…there are so many possibilities to express the owners interests or passions when picking out fabric and colors. We also make zippered pouches. These are themes that have meaning to people and they are not only using them for educating others to a cause that is dear to them but also to add a touch of style and personality in what they carry on their shoulder everyday. If you are interested you can check out our new hobby page on Facebook take a look here; Its Sew Made .

Today is the Marine Corps birthday…hope it is a great one for all of our men and women in the Corps. God bless you for all of your sacrifices for us civilians. For those serving overseas we thank you and we appreciate you. To all of the Marines who serve here at home on U.S. soil…your sacrifice is also appreciated. May you have safety and well-being till you are stateside and home again with your family & loved ones!
Quite often on the news, all we hear about is those who dishonor the Corps or who choose to perpetrate violence outside of war. Those stories put a black mark on the minds of people who don’t have personal knowledge of the quality of most Marines. I want to acknowledge the fact that there are more men and women who serve the United States in good standing; than there are who fail to act honorably. Just by living their lives decently and serving when called upon to do so…they are heros. It takes courage & commitment to serve in the armed forces. They risk life and limb and deserve respect for what they give during their time in the military. We need to honor them and support them; not just at the holiday time…but, year round. Support their family members who sacrifice alot as well…by being seperated from their service person.
This week, several Marines made the news with their heroic actions by saving many people staying in a hotel when they discovered that the hotel was on fire. They immediately went into action and alerted the hotel guests to the fire and told them to evacuate. One Marine said…this is what we are trained to do…when there is danger we are trained to go in…not run away! The williness to serve, that the Corps instills in it’s personel, is nothing less than admirable. God bless each and every one. So, for those who are serving in the Corps today; or, those who have formerly served in the Corps…thank you. If you see a Marine today…tell them thank you for serving and wish them a Happy Birthday! Our two new pups became bathing beauties today. They did not appreciate the experience! LOL Evidently (they are only 6 weeks old), they have had the pleasure of a bath before because, they started whinning as soon as they saw the tub of water.
They are adorable black lab mixed dogs. By nature they should love water. The pups then thought it was a house of torture to be toweled; and then fluffed with the hair dryer on the lowest setting. Their hair just shines now. Such pretty babies they are.
It was absolutely entertaining watching them then, put their heads down and push their shoulders and whatever other body parts they could along on the carpet and the edge of the couch in an attempt to dry off more and get comfortable again.
The kids loved being their heros after the experience by cuddling and laughing at them as they snuggled in for comfort.
I can’t say much for the smell of wet dog except to say that on the kids movie, Monster’s Inc, when they talk about putting on stinky under arm “orderant” called wet dog everyone knows exactly the smell they are talking about. Not very pleasant…good thing they are absolutely cute puppies!
It is too bad puppies can’t stay so adorable as they age. They will have their own adorability as they age but there is nothing like a baby puppy to entertain and warm your heart with their antics!
