If ever there was a show to incite anger and frustration this particular season of the Bachelor is it.  There were people who absolutely adored Jason Mesnick when this season started just because of the way he was treated when he was on the Bachelorette a few seasons back when he was rejected by Deanna.  He came into the season with alot of goodwill on the part of the viewers I thought.  He has blown it big time with tonights episode.

The season finale had him picking Melissa…ahhh…happy ending…but then wait…no…he changed his MIND people after hurting Molly from Michigan.  She told him when he let her go that he was making a mistake.  They all say that by the way…but Molly knew it deep within her soul after the night they spent together before the finale.  But, let her go –he did.  By the way…she left with dignity and grace…well, as much as is possible, in that situation.   (more…)

Breaking news today that a Texas judge involved in the removal of the sect’s children for suspected abuse has ordered that the more than 400 children be returned to their families today.  It is family reunion day for the children and their parents of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

In getting the return of their children, the families have to agree to take parenting classes; that is fairly typical in cases where children have been removed when there have been concerns about parenting skills.  They also have to submit to either psychological or medical testing for the children if it is deemed necessary.   The families may not leave Texas and move out of it’s jurisdiction.  It sounds as if the case is not closed but, it will continue to be monitored with the children placed back into their homes.  For the children to be back in the home…their families have to agree not to interfere with any investigation.

I am sure this is not the end of the whole mishandled situation.  When all is said and done with the investigation and cases are proven or disproven…i am sure there will be more litagation to follow.  Those who were falsely accused who had their children removed will want to be compensated in court…to make it clear that they were not abusers and to prevent this kind of mass assumption of guilt in the future.  For those found guilty, they will be held accountable.

In the larger picture, much damage has come from this situation for those individuals who were seperated from their families.  This case has made history and it’s impact is going to be far reaching from one state to another in determining the limits of power that the child protective departments will be able to wield over individual rights.

Today was just a wildly, eventful day…a aero-med helicopter crashed into a major hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and miraculously, no one was killed.

It was announced that Clay Aiken, a gifted singer, is going to be a father (congratulations Clay).

And, the wonderfully talented Harvey Korman (from the Carol Burnett television show fame) who brought such joy to the world, died today.

Last but not least, the Texas Supreme Court ordered the  450 sect children returned, to their parents, that the Child Protective Services removed from their families due to allegations of sexual abuse of minor children.   The state just was not able to prove the claim of wide-spread abuse  of the 450 children.

Well, on Saturday May 10th, 2008 President Bush and Laura Bush will welcome a son-in-law to the family.  Daughter Jenna Bush will marry her long-time love, Henry Hager.  They have been a couple for approximately 5 years.

The ceremony will be a private one on the family ranch in Crawford, Texas.  This is where Jenna grew up and feels most comfortable.  It will be much easier to control how much attention is given to the wedding festivities when everything is being held on the family ranch.

If the wedding were to be held in the White House there would be a huge attempt by the media to document each and every detail.  They are entitled to having their wedding day the way they want it; like most couples, surrounded by friends and family!

There have been reports allegedly linking a woman from Colorado, to the reports of abuse in the case of young woman and children in the Texas sect of Fundalmentalist Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who practice polygamy.  This same woman, Rozita Swinton, has been accused of filing false reports as recently as April 16 in another case.

The problem is…the supposed victim that called in the report…is missing; if she exists at all.  Now, all of these young woman and children/teens have been removed and seperated from their families and many have been placed into foster care.  Is all of this trauma for naught?

Legally, if they can’t find the alledged victim…is there even a case?  And obviously, if there are cases of young woman who are forced or coerced into marriage with adult husbands before they are 18 years of age and are having babies…that is against the law.  So, what if all of these children go through this removal and seperation only to have the case thrown out….this is a terrible cost…all of this emotional damage.

Will the legality of this whole intervention be challenged?  What will happen to the women and children who have been put in this horrible circumstance.  Will they find the help they need to go on and live a normal life?  What about all of the children in foster care…will they be reunited with appropriate family members?

Even if it is proven that this woman Rozita Swinton lied and had no knowledge of actual abuse…will those same young woman and children be protected from further “real” sexual and emotional abuse?  Things to think about here, definately.

UFO enthusiasts are saying that the military’s previous denial about having fighter planes in the area of Stephenville, Texas on January 8, 2008, is now a confirmation that something unidentified really was in the area, now that they have retracted that statement.

Yesterday, officials from Ft. Worth’s Naval Station said that 10  F-16’s were in that area doing training on that day.  Previously, Maj. Karl Lewis said that what people saw must have been an illusion caused by the sun reflecting off of two commercial planes.  He says now that he should not have speculated about what it could have been.
